Should I Be Scared Or Excited About This DeepFake AI?

As you know I have been following the tremendous and scary progress of artificial intelligence and deepfakes.

Recently, I published a blog about how far voice cloning has come in the last 6 months.

In that post I created a voice clone and asked people to choose which voice belonged to me, and which was a clone.

80% of people (and many of them know me), chose the clone as my real voice.

A New Site HyGen, DeepFakes A Person Speaking A New Language Seemlessly

Fraud Fighter Ken Palla introduced me to a terrifying and exciting AI app called HeyGen.

The application allows you to upload a video of yourself. It will then take that video and using AI will do two things.

#1 – It will clone your voice and translate what you said into the language you choose.

#2 – It will alter your video to make you perfectly lip-synch to the new language.

This Can Be Used For Good, But Could Also Be Used For Romance And Impersonation Scams

Now this can be used for all sorts of good, and it is pretty amazing and exciting to think of the possibilities of the possibilities.

But I also worry that it could also be used for some terrifying romance scams too. Who Knows?

Do I Really Speak Fluent French?

I don’t speak a lick of French. But that doesn’t matter. Because this video makes it look like I do!

I uploaded a real video of myself and in about 5 minutes I had my clone and I was speaking French with my lips perfectly synched to the french language that I was speaking.

Shocking! Take a look.

Want To Try It Yourself?

If you want to try it yourself, head over to HeyGen and try it out. It’s a beta product but it is absolutely incredible, and a bit scary how it works.
