Haotian AI : Providing Deepfake AI For Scam Bosses

An advertisement for Haotian AI, a company that provides face-changing software on Telegram, shows they mean business. “We have an R&D team of hundreds of programmers and dozens of servers to serve you.”

The braggy advertisement, which just might be directed at Pig Butchering bosses running scam compounds in Southeast Asia, reveals the extent of investment that scammers are pouring into nefarious AI.

The company, which was first highlighted by Global Anti Scam Organization investigator Troy Gochenour nine months ago, provides custom AI deepfake software that is easy to use and produces eerily good quality face swaps in real time.

Simple face swaps are no longer enough. Pig butchering operations are now resorting to increasingly sophisticated deepfakes nearly undetectable to the average person.

Better And Easier Deepfakes In 10 Minutes With One Button Operation

Haotian AI is just one of the thousands of providers in the sprawling Huiwang (Huione) Guarantee network. This shadowy conglomerate includes thousands of merchants willing to help pig butchers commit crimes. According to researchers, it may even have ties to the highest levels of the Cambodian government.

Until now, powerful deepfake AI technology has been challenging to implement, hard to use, and difficult to set up. Sometimes, a single deepfake video requires several days of training.

Haotian AI advertises its deepfakes are easier, more seamless, and better than any other software available, making them accessible to even novices who only have to push one button.

They even offer a comparison grid of their custom software to several open-source deepfake tools on the market.

God-Level Assistance With Cost Up To $10,000

The custom AI software is not cheap. But you get what you pay for, and if your scamming millions of dollars a month, the cost is well worth the investment.

The company provides the AI for between $1,200 and $9,900, which they tout as providing “God Level Assistance.”

This image appears to be a collage of many screenshots showing various cryptocurrency or digital currency transactions made payable to Haotian AI for their software. The overlaid text in large yellow Chinese characters reads “昊天AI真实成交图”, which translates to “Haotian AI Authentic Transaction Screenshots”.

To prove the sophistication of their AI, they display a jaw-dropping video created with just a single photo of Anne Hathaway.

“After All, How Could A Pretty Girl Lie, Right?”

Are these deepfakes for legitimate purposes like advertising or for influencers who want to look better? Perhaps. But the fact that they are advertised in Telegram channels catering to Pig Butchering bosses indicates a more sinister purpose—using AI to build up trust with victims.

Some of the messages and advertisements they post on Telegram reveal their true purpose.

“The chat lacks authenticity? No Trust?”, the ad says. “Use Haotian AI to solve all your problems. After all, how could such a beautiful girl lie, right?”

AI To Bypass Checks Police Recommend When Victims Are Suspicious

Earlier this year, police in Hong Kong warned citizens of a rise in deepfake scams. They instructed people to have a video caller wave their hand in front of their face to see if it would glitch the video. If it did, the person would know it was a deepfake.

Haotian AI has solved for this, creating AI that will not glitch when these requests are made.

One ad exclaims, “Talk about the market, just need. Customer trust is increased 100%, cover your face and pinch your face, all without any flaws.”

A video showing a model touching her face shows that it is nearly undetectable, unless you are looking very very closely.

Uncanny Realism – It’s Hard To Know What Is Real And What Is Fake With This AI

The level of realism of these deepfakes from Haotian AI will make it very hard for an average victim to know if they are dealing with a real person, or a complete deepfake.

White Glove Implementation Assistance? No Problem

The company understands that not all their clients will know who to install or use the software correctly, and for that they offer full implementation services.

It’s important to remember that these AI deepfakes are only going to get better, and better. We need to prepare now for a complete change in the way we work with scam victims to protect them from these dangerous technologies.
